Jennifer Aniston: Tabloids Are “Toxic”

“All that stuff, it’s toxic,” she says in a new Associated Press interview. Aniston continues, “It never gets un-jarring, but you do have to not let it imprison you, which is possible too.” The actress relies on two methods to help her cope: sticking with a close group of friends, and not buying into hype. “There’s times when you see people climbing and getting success and you start to see, oh, they’re starting to really change,” she explains. “So I always just make the effort to be as humble and grateful as possible.” When picking new projects under the glare of the spotlight, “You just have to work really hard to tune out the noise and the static,” says Aniston. She goes on, “Because it gets louder, and people really have an opinion, and you don’t want to shy away from taking chances for fear of what people will say, or living in the wreckage of the future [of] what may be if I do this.” Aniston admits that speculation about her relationship with fiancĂ© Justin Theroux is “on a level that I don’t even understand.” “It’s weird. I think because we are so normal. We’re very non-fabulous in any way,” she says. “They try to create all sorts of narratives to go with a very normal, wonderful life that’s just two people loving each other and living life and working and doing the best they can.” But when asked if the rumor mill “detracts” from her engagement “joy,” Aniston replies, “Oh, God no.” “If it did, I would be dead,” she adds.

Missing Malaysia Airlines Plane "Ended" in Indian Ocean, Prime Minister Says

Malaysian Airlines Flight 370 "ended" in the southern Indian Ocean, Malaysia's prime minister said in a press conference Monday. NBC News, Prime Minister Najib Razak said "with sadness and regret" that new satellite data analysis showed the remote area to be the final position of the Boeing 777 that vanished March 8 with 239 people onboard. Malaysia Airlines sent a text message to families of those onboard saying the plane had been "lost." "We have to assume beyond reasonable doubt that MH370 has been lost and that none of those on board have survived," the message said. "We must now accept all evidence suggests the plane went down in the southern Indian Ocean." Malaysia's prime minister will be holding a press conference Tuesday with further details. "In the meantime, we wanted to inform you of this new development at the earliest opportunity," he said of Monday's sad announcement. "We share this information out of a commitment to openness and respect for the families, two principles which have guided this investigation. Malaysia Airlines have already spoken to the families of the passengers and crew to inform them of this development. For them, the past few weeks have been heartbreaking. I know this news must be harder still. I urge the media to respect their privacy and allow them the space they need at this very difficult time." Our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by this tragedy.

Mila Kunis Debuts Tiny Baby Bump, Shops for Groceries With Ashton Kutcher.

The engaged couple hit up an L.A.-area grocery store in the early hours of Sunday morning. Mila, 30, tried to hide her baby bump beneath a baggy gray sweater, which she paired with black sweats, sneakers and aviator shades. Ashton, 36, kept his look low-key as well, wearing a black baseball cap, long-sleeved shirt, basketball shorts and sneakers as he very gentlemanly pushed the couple's cart of groceries. This will be the first marriage for Mila and second for Ashton, who finalized his divorce from Demi Moore in November 2013—two years after announcing their separation. Mila was romantically linked to Macaulay Culkin from 2002 to 2010. It seems, now, that these two lovebirds are happy to settle down. "Listen, in five years I do hope to have a family, and, you know, who knows?" Mila told Interview in August 2012. "I've always been a big proponent of not working for the sake of working, because I don't want to work for the rest of my life—I want to live."

Michelle Obama sees Great Wall, Chinese educators

Beijing (AFP) - Visiting US first lady Michelle Obama toured China's Great Wall on Sunday, after her arrival at the US embassy in Beijing earlier in the day sparked a minor security alert. She and her daughters strolled along a popular section of the wall and rode down a toboggan on a smoggy afternoon, as part of a week-long visit focused on education and "soft issues" rather than politics. Vendors at the tourist site northeast of the capital appeared to have removed T-shirts which are normally on sale showing President Obama in a Mao hat, with one merchant revealing a boxful of the souvenirs stored in the back of her tent. Earlier in the day, as Obama's motorcade arrived at the US embassy for a roundtable with educators, parents and students, two people just outside the premises began shouting. Police and men in gray sweatshirts and pants hurried to subdue them, and it was unclear why they were yelling. Since arriving in the capital on Thursday night, Obama -- whose mother is also accompanying her -- has also played table tennis with students and toured the Forbidden City with her counterpart Peng Liyuan. She briefly trod political ground in a speech Saturday morning at Peking University's Stanford Centre, calling for greater freedoms while refraining from naming China.
"As my husband has said, we respect the uniqueness of other cultures and societies," Obama told a crowd of about 200 students, most of them from the United States. "But when it comes to expressing yourself freely, and worshipping as you choose, and having open access to information -- we believe those are universal rights that are the birthright of every person on this planet," she said. "We believe that all people deserve the opportunity to fulfil their highest potential, as I was able to do in the United States." But the majority of Obama's speech was devoted to encouraging American students to study in China. The programme aims to raise the number and the socioeconomic diversity of Americans studying in China. After her speech, Obama held a virtual roundtable with a group of American students, then took a tour with her family of the Summer Palace, a former imperial getaway not far from Peking University. In opening remarks at Sunday's discussion in the embassy, she stressed that "education is an important focus for me". "It's personal, because I wouldn't be where I am today without my parents investing and pushing me to get a good education," she said. The participants discussed standardised testing, opportunities to go to college and the treatment of ethnic minorities in the education system. Obama will also visit the northern city of Xian, site of the famous ancient Terracotta Warriors, and Chengdu in the southwest, home to the country's iconic pandas.
